GAIL SCHOOR

Biography

In the early 1990s I was lucky to learn the basics of watercolours through the esteemed artist Doris Krammer and ever since, I have enjoyed honing my skills as a watercolourist through classes with Peter Humeniuk, Greg Zelinski and gentle coaching of Gladys Postans. I am self taught in acrylics mostly painting on rocks, doors, tables and have decorated several chairs for "Chairs for Charity". I now added canvas to my accomplishments.

I was accepted into the Lakehead Visual Arts group in 2008 and participated in the original Gallery at the marina for two summers. Now I have art in Gallery 33 and Local Colour Gallery (Picture Store) as well as take part in seasonal shows by the LVA.

I grew up in Upsala and we raised our two girls there. We have lived in Thunder Bay for the last 27 years but we still go back to my family home. This is where I get much of my inspiration for painting.
