I was born in Saskatchewan near the beautiful QuAppelle valley but moved to Bissett, Manitoba at an early age where I completed elementary school. I received my teacher's certificate in Winnipeg and taught in Winnipeg, Kenora, and Thunder Bay.

After leaving teaching I gave piano lessons for many years before renewing my interest in art. The beautiful scenery of Northwestern Ontario with the ever changing moods of Lake Superior, the graceful red and white pines, and the rugged norwesters inspire me.

My first formal art lessons were in oils at the Banff School of Fine Arts. Since concentrating on watercolour I have taken lessons from several local artists such as Peter Humeniuk and Gladys Postans as well other Canadian and international artists.

As a member of Lakehead Visual Arts my paintings can be seen at Gallery 33, 4 Balsam Street and at the Local Colour Art Gallery as well as at other venues in Thunder Bay.
