Since I can remember, I have always been drawing, painting or creating art in some form. The love of art has always been with me. It remains a continuous thread through all the stages of my life.

For many years, I painted people and pet portraits in pastel, coloured pencil and scratchboard. Later I began to explore other mediums and subjects. I have always loved the outdoors so it was natural that my subjects would become the trees, lakes and skies of Northern Ontario. I found that acrylic paint frees me to express the spirit and richness of the scenes I am witness to.

The materials and techniques I use in pastel, scratchboard, acrylic painting, watercolour, etc. has been learned through research and experimentation, workshops with local artists and secondary school art classes.

I would like my paintings to inspire people to get out to see and experience the wilderness, be it in national parks or places nearby home, to gain appreciation for the nature around us and to take part in stewardship of it.
